Photoshop Classes

Photoshop classes start on August 12th @ Cultural Center in Chapala (Old Train Station), 1-2:30 on Thursdays for 3 wks. Cost=$450 pesos. Will teach as many tools as we can get through in 3 wks! How to crop, how to alter colors, how to burn & dodge, increase hue saturation and contrast and so much more.

Are you sometimes disappointed or frustrated when you review the photos you took? You took what you thought was a great photo and then it didn't turn out quite as expected.  It was too dark or too light or needed more contrast, etc.   It happens to all of us, amateurs and professionals.  You can correct some of these things on Picasa or other simple software, but they are very limited and you cannot go beyond the basics.

With Photoshop you can make these adjustments and so much more.  You can learn to be more creative with your photos.  You can "up" the contrast, you can change colors on the whole photo or only on a part of the photo, you can sandwich two photos together.  You can completely saturate your colors or completely de-saturate them.  You can change a color photo to black and white.  You can take a photo and make it look abstract.  You can alter the perspective or skew or distort some part of the photo, and you can add dozens of filters.  Or you can darken or lighten certain areas by burning and dodging.  The manipulations are endless.  All that’s lacking is your imagination and knowing how to use the tools.  And we can show you how to do that in a way that is easy to learn.

We project Photoshop on a wall with a photo to work on, so that you can see what we are doing and follow along.  We show you, step by step, how to use these tools, starting with the most basic ones.  And, if you have a laptop, you can bring it with.  We will supply you with a duplicate copy of the demonstration photo, and you can use the same tools to do the same adjustments simultaneously with us.

If you bring your laptop, you will need to have installed Photoshop or Elements (they are made by the same company and have almost the same tools). Call or write us and we can tell you where you can buy a copy and have it installed without spending an arm and a leg.

Classes are taught in Spanish and in English.
